Latin America and the Caribbean is the world’s most inequality-rife region and it is precisely this problem that poses the greatest hurdle to combating poverty, championing human development and broadening people’s freedoms and options.

The Regional Human Development Report for Latin America and the Caribbean 2010. Acting on the future: breaking the intergenerational transmission of inequality is to be officially unveiled on July 23, 2010 in San José, Costa Rica. It will subsequently be presented in Santiago de Chile (Chile) and Quito (Ecuador), among other cities from the region. The report presentations will boast the attendance of the most senior officials and authorities from each of the countries, and will also feature the attendance of political representatives, mayors and key figures from the diplomatic corps represented in each Latin American and Caribbean nation.

Representatives from the press, decision-makers and members of private companies, business associations, think-tanks, universities, non-governmental organizations and international cooperation agencies will also be on hand to hear the proposals made by the Report.
